Rare ancient Orientalist painting in oil on panel depicting a Zouave soldier bivouacking in an African region. The scene shows a return from hunting by a Zouave of the French Army in one of the colonies of the time: Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. This painting dates from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. It is very well framed with a modern gilded frame. The dimensions are 19.5x24 cm without the frame and 38.5x43 cm with the frame.
