Antique Paris Landscape Painting, Versailles Garden Park, Woman, Art Deco, 1900

Original study of the Dordogne statue at the Water Parterre in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles. Oil on canvas mounted on cardboard (or canvas board).

On the back is a label from the Parisian artists’ materials supplier G. Sennelier, whose design is consistent with the period. There appears to be a monogram in the right-hand corner. Dimensions: 24 x 33 cm. Attributable to the artist Einar Wegener.

Possibly a plein-air study from the artist’s studio collection? In good overall condition, with fresh colours and entirely original. An authentic period painting in untouched condition, with very slight wear and signs of age.
