Oil painting on canvas, "Susanna and the Elders," from the 18th century. A magnificent painting from the first half of the 18th century. An oil on canvas representing a fascinating biblical scene: Susanna and the elders. A chaste woman is threatened by two elderly judges who blackmail her. The story will have a happy ending, but Susanna will resist the elders, who will then be unmasked and condemned. A painting of remarkable pictorial quality, probably a preparatory study for the original, of monumental dimensions, currently exhibited at the Louvre in Paris (the artwork is not accompanied by an expertise at the moment, but it is possible to obtain one for an additional fee). Carved and gilded wooden frame from the 20th century, showing some signs of aging (see photo). The painting has already been restored: relining, replacement of the frame, and recoloring of small spots.
