Lombard school of the 17th century. First canvas and mounted on original frame.
Located in a prison, the scene presents Saint Ambrose, the bishop who guides towards the sky the one on his right, a soldier with a Cross around his neck, identifiable as Saint Victor, a Roman soldier from Mauritania, who served in Milan during the time of Maximian and was martyred for his Christian faith. It was the Milanese bishop who recounted the life and martyrdom of the saint in one of his writings and spread his cult. On the left, another probable martyr of the faith, who witnesses the beatification of his cellmate; around them, many other figures of convicts. The octagonal painting probably belongs to a series dedicated to the cult of the Bishop of Milan. The canvas needs to be restored and cleaned, as it presents several stains and cuts (a tear in the center, other minor ones on the sides).

The Di Mano in Mano work cooperative was founded in 1999 at the initiative of some members of the Villapizzone and Castellazzo communities, adopting their values and bringing them into the world of work. The rules of Di Mano in Mano are based on respect for the life of each worker and their personal and family needs. Taking care of the environment, its territory, and the community that inhabits it, its history, art, and culture, its needs for job opportunities and training, and its social vulnerabilities: these values are the solid foundations on which we have built over the years a unique business model, faithful to this revolutionary idea of finding and putting into practice new ways to improve the quality of life.
