"Boat on the lagoon at sunset". Very nice framing, see photos. Without frame: 19.29 x 14.96 inches. With frame: 11.8 x 7.48 inches. François Maury studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Marseille where he won the first prizes for painting and drawing in 1880, and the following year the Jules Cantini prize.

He continued his artistic training at the Académie Julian. From 1885 to 1905, he exhibited at the Salon des artistes français, of which he became a member, and at the Salon d'Automne. It is mainly in landscapes and portraits that he asserts his talent.

He paints the landscapes of his native Provence, Savoy, and Paris.
