Antique Paintings, Still Life with Pears, circa 1900. Oil on panel of a still life with pears, signed at the upper right, late 19th to early 20th century. This still life presents a warm composition of pears and a peach arranged on a dark table.

The artist plays with volumes and shades of green, red, and ochre to create an intimate, classical atmosphere. The soft light particularly highlights the velvety textures of the fruit and the depth of the colors. What is interesting in this still life is that the fruit is depicted larger than life. Note: one or two woodworm holes in the panel, with no significant damage.
