Dressed simply, the child adopts a slightly leaning posture, almost meditative. This oil on canvas belongs to a naturalist or realist tradition, possibly influenced by late 19th-century European painting.

Notable is the generous black frame, which enhances the painting’s ochre and yellow tones.
