This is a small copy of Titian's work of the same name, created around 1532 and now preserved in the Louvre Museum. Originally, it was thought that the work represented Alphonse d'Avalos, Marquis of Vasto, bidding farewell to his wife before going to fight the Turks. It is rather a prototype of a matrimonial allegory that was widely successful in Venice. The spouses are depicted as Mars (in armor) and Venus, accompanied by Cupid, the protective deity of love, holding a bundle of arrows, Vesta, the goddess of the domestic hearth, crowned with myrtle, symbol of conjugal love.

Fidelity, and by Hymen, the deity of weddings offering a basket of fruits and flowers. The woman holds a crystal ball, as if she wanted to look towards the future.

The melancholic expressions of the protagonists have been interpreted as a reference to the possible death or departure of one of the spouses. The painting is presented in a contemporary frame. XIX Century / 1801 - 1900. Height: 66 Width: 57 Depth: 4. A NEW LIFE FOR THINGS MORE VALUE FOR PEOPLE, SINCE 1999.

The Di Mano in Mano work cooperative was founded in 1999 at the initiative of some members of the Villapizzone and Castellazzo communities, adopting their values and transposing them into the world of work. The rules of Di Mano in Mano are based on respect for the life of each worker and their personal and family needs. Taking care of the environment, its territory, and the community that inhabits it, its history, art, and culture, its needs in terms of work and training opportunities, and its social vulnerabilities: these values are the solid foundations on which we have built over the years a unique business model, faithful to this revolutionary idea of finding and putting into practice new ways to improve quality of life. Equality of remuneration proportional to the number of hours worked, the indivisibility of profits, which characterizes the work relationship of the associates from the beginning, confirms Di Mano in Mano's intention to continue living in the spirit of sharing work, respecting the individual, and sobriety. Our vision is to contribute to saving the planet through our work and improving the world of work through our choices. Therefore, we will continue to pursue a sustainable economic model based on attention to people, their needs, and the world around us.
