Large and very beautiful antique oil on canvas painting, still life, depicting a generous bouquet of roses placed on a ledge. Signed at the lower right, with a signature that is difficult to decipher, possibly M/N. French work from the late 19th century?
A mention of “Salon 1910” appears on the back of the canvas, confirming either a presentation or a date close to that period. The composition is rich, with deep tones and thick brushstrokes, in the tradition of academic floral still lifes.A few minor signs of wear and a visible scratch on the right side. The frame has undergone a home restoration, reinforced and repainted. With some reconstructed elements; the whole remains highly decorative and coherent while retaining signs of age.
Notably, there are visible cracks in the plaster, but they have been stabilized.
