Magnificent old painting landscape oil on wood 22x16 cm Gaston Moreau
Very beautiful painting, of a modern style with a brushstroke and a sensitive touch. You can feel the wind rushing along the path. It's painted in oil, but from a distance, the painting could seem like a watercolor. Gaston-August Moreau, known as Gaston-Moreau, was born in Paris in 1885 and is a French painter of landscapes and seascapes. He was the nephew of the sculptor Mathurin Moreau, whose portrait he executed.
Gaston-Moreau exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants starting in 1911 and at the Nationale des Beaux-arts starting in 1926. The town hall of Clamart owns several of his works depicting Old Clamart.
