The scene depicts an episode from the love story between the Queen of Egypt and the Roman triumvir Antony: Cleopatra, to showcase her wealth and seduce the handsome general, organizes a sumptuous banquet, during which she chooses a pearl of inestimable value and dissolves it in vinegar, then offers the drink, regarded as a powerful aphrodisiac, to Antony. In the painting, the queen is about to place the pearl into the cup: the ribbon to which the pearl is attached is distinctive, reminiscent of that in the painting of the same name by Carlo Maratta (1625 -1713).

Restored and re-stretched, the painting is presented in a wooden frame from the late 19th century. Cleopatra dissolves a pearl in a cup of vinegar. 17th Century / 1601 - 1700.

This right consists of the right to return the purchased item to the seller and the consequent refund of the purchase price. In the case of a return for a non-conforming item, please note that in order to obtain a refund, including transportation costs, it is necessary to provide photos of the damaged package or any breakages of the received items.
