Old oil painting on canvas - late 19th century. René Louis Allain (19th - 20th century).

French painter born in Lorraine in Baccarat. He lived in Vierzon in the Cher region, where he often painted river landscapes. Exhibitions in Paris at the Salon des Independants. He is listed in the Dictionnaire des Peintres Bénézit.

Good condition consistent with age: I note 2 old restorations on the back of the painting, but they are very barely visible from the front (see all photos). Dimensions: 81 x 60 cm. Fast, careful, and very secure shipping.
