Hello, I am selling this painting with a height of 24 cm by 30 cm wide if we only consider the painted part. It is a superb oil painting on masonite from the second half of the 20th century, signed in the bottom left corner A.

MIGLIARDI for Antonio Migliardi (1913 -1985), a native of Naples, which is precisely the city depicted in this seaside scene with its whitish shades of moonlight. The style, strongly leaning towards post-impressionism, aims for a surprisingly realistic rendering as you move away, from about 2 meters distance. The artist's talent shines through in reproducing the movement of the waves, with an intensity that grows as they approach the shore, the ripples of the water, with multiple shades of black and white, brushstrokes sometimes bold, sometimes airy, all executed with mastery down to the economy of means, such as intentionally revealing the support in places for additional effects, the soul of a maritime bay contained in these boats depicted in a wide variety of appearances and dimensions, the city lights reflecting on the walls and buildings, the typical relief of the terrain, or the contrast in the sky, with the moonlight covered by gray clouds splitting the pale blue of the night.

The composition, despite small signs of wear here and there, and three small paint chips near the edge of the frame, very discreet however, even when viewed directly, at eye level (example with the fifth photo), is in a very good overall condition. The frame, particularly worked in its varied gilding for effects of great elegance, leaning more towards yellow than yellow-orange in reality, and with trimmings that are no less exquisite, including these raised floral motifs, is also in a very good overall condition despite some inevitable wear here and there. The photos were taken in natural light created by my skylights, during a relatively sunny afternoon. After many tests, I realized that the color rendering is most accurate between the first and fifth photos.

This is the one that faithfully reproduces what can be observed in conditions that most people would consider "normal", offering a good compromise between sufficient light source and nuanced colors without excess. However, please note that computer or smartphone screens other than mine, depending on their brightness and contrast, may more or less alter the results I have achieved. Keeping these elements in mind, you can nonetheless consider my photos as sufficiently representative sources of reality, in observation conditions similar to those described earlier. Attention collectors, vintage enthusiasts, curiosity seekers, decoration aficionados, or those simply in admiration of their intrinsic beauty!

It is an excellent gift idea. The shipment will be done with care, unless you prefer a hand delivery, which is entirely possible if you make the trip.

In order for it to be taken into account, it is imperative, if the cardboard is damaged enough (it is up to you to determine upon inspection) at any location, and/or opened, even partially, that you ask the delivery person to note any reservations, if it is a shipment with the Post, or refuse the package with the personnel at the pick-up point, if it is a shipment with Mondial Relay, UNLESS, you must therefore ask them, you have the possibility to note reservations with the scanning device of the shipping receipts - then you can receive the package - before they scan the shipping receipt or perform any other operation to confirm that you have received the package; in other words, make sure to check the condition of the cardboard in these two cases before they take action. Concerning Mondial Relay, in the event that your refusal to accept the delivery is expressed, the package will be kept at the pick-up point to be returned to the inspection service, for a verification aiming to report the responsibility of the delivery persons and to make the insurance effective (information gathered on their site) in the event that the item is damaged.

Regarding the Post, if the delivery is made in your mailbox because the dimensions of the package allow it, without a hand delivery, and the cardboard is damaged enough (a nuance that is up to you to determine), you must return it to the nearest post office without opening it, asking the counter staff to return the package to me (information gathered on their site), also in anticipation of a verification by the delivery service, UNLESS, as for the case with Mondial Relay, the staff at the post office can note reservations. In any case, do not hesitate to take photos of the damaged and/or opened cardboard. You may think, for any reason, that the item inside the cardboard remains in perfect condition, despite the damaged cardboard, enough (it is up to you to determine upon inspection), and/or opened, even partially, and therefore you do not ask to make reservations, or you accept the package if making reservations is not possible; but know that this is akin to playing Russian roulette since delivery services count on the margin of error, which incidentally suits them well since, I repeat, the insurance is then no longer effective due to damage because of the sacred transfer of responsibility from the delivery person to the sender or recipient; less expenses for them because they will not have to pay the insurance amount! And do not count on shaking the package to determine if the item is broken; unless it is made of glass or ceramic, the sound of breakage is imperceptible, or it could be a protective element in the package.

Make sure to communicate all these elements in case it is a third person who picks up the package on your behalf. However, if the condition of the returned item is different from what it was when I sent it, but there is no proof to determine that the delivery persons are responsible, then there will be no refund, for the reason that even with excellent packaging, it can happen that the shocks during transport are extremely significant and that it happens without external damage, i. These things may not have occurred during the initial shipment, and could perhaps have been avoided if the buyer had received the package and prevented a second transport, theoretically implying twice the risk for the item. If you have any questions or would like more photos, do not hesitate to let me know.

PS: I am also selling this painting on another site, starting with l and ending with n, at a reduced price, which is not negligible, considering the absence of sales fees. To find it, type the title of this ad in the search bar of the other site.
