Hello, I am selling this painting that measures 40 cm in height and 55 cm in width. It is a superb oil on canvas, possibly from the late 19th century but more likely from the early 20th century, signed in the bottom left (illegible to me) and, in my opinion, belonging to a foreign school from Eastern Europe, possibly German. It depicts a snowy landscape imbued with solitude and melancholy, showcasing nature and its beauty, an endless source of wonder, especially when a sunset appears in the sky. The atmosphere, in addition to conveying a remarkable poetry, is particularly credible, and one might almost shiver from the cold with the woman returning home, probably to one of the distant houses. Notable relief effects can be seen here and there, especially for the bark of the trees and the snow, the rendering of the branches in their fineness and multitude, contrasting with the thickness of the white blanket, and attention is also paid to certain details, such as the lights illuminating some windows of the houses or the smoke rising from the cottage in the foreground. The composition, despite slight signs of wear, minor cracks here and there, which are hallmarks of an authentic painting, and perhaps a few retouches of paint in places, is in very good condition. It is covered with a satin varnish, giving it beautiful reflections and protection.

The photos were taken on a sunny afternoon in a very well-lit room. After numerous tests, I realized that the color rendering in the first two photos, with my equipment, is the one that reproduces the most accurately, regardless of the distance, the one that can be observed under conditions that most people would consider "normal", meaning offering a good compromise between sufficient light source and nuanced colors without excess. However, note that computer or mobile phone screens other than mine, depending on their brightness and contrast, may alter the results I achieved to varying degrees.

With these elements in mind, you can nevertheless consider these two snapshots as sufficiently representative of reality, under observation conditions similar to those described earlier. Attention collectors, those attracted to vintage items, curiosities, decorative objects, or simply admirers of their intrinsic beauty! This is an excellent gift idea.

The shipping will be done carefully, unless you prefer a hand delivery, which is entirely possible if you make the trip. For it to be taken into account, it is imperative, if the box is damaged, sufficiently (it is up to you to determine this upon inspection) in any place, and/or opened, even partially, that you ask the delivery person to indicate reserves, if it is a shipment with the Post, or that you refuse the package from the staff at the pickup point, if it is a delivery to a pickup point, UNLESS, you will therefore have to ask them, you have the option to note reserves with the scanning device of the shipping receipt - then you can receive the package - before they scan the shipping receipt or perform any other operation confirming that you have indeed received the package; in other words, ask to thoroughly check the condition of the box, not overlooking any part, in these two scenarios before they act.

Regarding a delivery to a pickup point, if your refusal of receipt is expressed, the package will be kept by the pickup point to be returned to the expertise service for verification aimed at reporting the responsibility of the delivery persons and making the insurance effective (elements gathered from their website) in the event that the item is damaged. Regarding the Post, if delivery occurs in your mailbox because the dimensions of the package allow it, without a hand delivery thus, and the box is sufficiently damaged (a nuance that you must determine), you will need to bring it back to the nearest post office without having opened it, asking the counter staff to return the package to me (elements collected from their site), again in anticipation of a verification by the delivery service, UNLESS, as in the case of a delivery to a pickup point, the postal office staff can indicate reserves. In any case, do not hesitate to take photos of the damaged and/or opened box. You may think, for any reason, that the item inside the box remains in perfect condition despite the damaged box, sufficiently (it is up to you to determine this upon inspection), and/or opened, even partially, and thus that you do not request to make reserves, or that you accept the package if making reserves is not possible; but know that this amounts to playing Russian roulette since the delivery services rely on human error, which by the way suits them well since, I repeat, the insurance is then no longer effective due to the sacred transfer of responsibility from the deliverer to the sender or recipient; less expense for them thus since they will not have to pay the insurance amount!

And do not count on a "shaking" of the package to determine if the item is broken; unless it is glass or ceramic, the sound of breakage is imperceptible, or it may be a protective element within the package. Be sure to communicate all these elements in case a third party retrieves the package on your behalf. If, on the other hand, the condition of the returned item is different from that which it was in when I sent it, but no proof allows determining that the delivery persons are responsible, then there will be no refund, for the reason that even with excellent packaging, it can happen that not only the shocks during transport are extremely significant and that moreover this occurs without external damage, that is to say on the box. Things that may not have happened during the initial shipment, and which could perhaps have been avoided if the buyer had retrieved the package and thus prevented a second transport, theoretically involving twice the risks for the item. If you have any questions or would like more photos, do not hesitate to let me know. PS: I have other paintings on my profile.
