Hello, I am selling this painting that measures 27 cm in height and 41 cm in width. It is a beautiful oil on canvas, signed at the bottom left G. MARAIS, dated 1906 and located in Plessis-Bouchard (in Val d'Oise, Île-de-France). It depicts a countryside landscape bathed in a milky light, which is pierced by a small area of blue in the top left, leaning towards gray or white, almost hesitant.

The lush and dense vegetation in the foreground gives it an intimate dimension, pleasantly contrasted by the expanse of the wider field of vision that opens up to part of a village and its bell tower. Despite slight signs of wear here and there, a few surface cracks that are minor and indicative of an authentic painting, and a very well-done repair in the foliage of the tree on the right, the composition is in very good overall condition. It has benefited from a uniform varnish, providing protection and beautiful soft satin reflections. The tension of the canvas is excellent. The photos were taken on a sunny afternoon in a well-lit room. The second and third photos are the most true to the actual color rendering. However, please note that computer or mobile phone screens other than mine, depending on their brightness and contrast, may alter the results I have achieved. With these elements in mind, you can still consider these two snapshots as sufficiently representative of reality, under observation conditions similar to those described earlier. Attention collectors, those attracted to vintage items, curiosities, decorative objects, or simply admirers of their intrinsic beauty! This is an excellent gift idea. For it to be taken into account, it is imperative that if the box is damaged, sufficiently (it is up to you to determine this upon inspection) in any location, and/or opened, even partially, that you ask the delivery person to note reservations if it is a shipment with the Post, or that you refuse the package with the staff at the relay point if it is a relay point shipment, UNLESS you must therefore ask them if you have the ability to note reservations with the scanning device of the shipping slips - then you can receive the package - before they scan the shipping slip or perform any other operation confirming that you have indeed collected the package; in other words, ask to check the condition of the box thoroughly, not omitting any area, in these two scenarios before they act. Regarding delivery to a relay point, if your refusal to accept is expressed, the package will be kept by the relay point to be returned to the expertise service for verification aimed at reporting the responsibility of the delivery personnel and making the insurance effective (elements gleaned from their site) in the event the object is damaged. Concerning the Post, if delivery occurs in your mailbox because the package dimensions allow it, without a handover therefore, and the box is sufficiently damaged (a nuance that you must determine), you should return it to the nearest postal point without opening it, asking the counter staff to return the package to me (elements collected from their site), again in anticipation of a verification by the delivery service, UNLESS, as in the case with a relay point delivery, the postal office staff can indicate reservations. In any case, do not hesitate to take photos of the damaged and/or opened box. You may think, for any reason, that the item inside the box remains in perfect condition, despite the damaged box, sufficiently (it is up to you to determine this upon inspection), and/or opened, even partially, and therefore that you do not request to make reservations, or that you accept the package if making reservations is not possible; but know that this amounts to playing Russian roulette since delivery services rely on the factor of error, which suits them well since, I repeat, insurance is then no longer effective due to damage caused by the sacred transfer of responsibility from the delivery person to the sender or recipient; less expense for them therefore since they will not have to pay the amount of the insurance!

And do not count on a "shake" of the package to determine if the object is broken; unless it is glass or ceramic, the sound of breakage is imperceptible, or it may be a protective element in the package. Be sure to communicate all these elements if it is a third party who will collect the package on your behalf. If, on the other hand, the condition of the returned object differs from what it was at the time I sent it, but no evidence allows determining that the delivery personnel are responsible, then there will be no refund, for the reason that even with excellent packaging, it can happen that not only the shocks during transport are extremely significant but that this occurs without external damages, meaning on the box. Things that may not have happened during the initial shipment, and that may have been avoided if the buyer had collected the package and thus prevented a second transport, theoretically involving twice the risk for the object.

A handover is entirely possible if you make the trip. If you have any questions or would like more photos, please let me know.

: I have other paintings on my profile.
